 SHEIKH MUJADDID ALF E SANI (R.AH.) Sheikh Ahmad Sirhindi (Mujaddid Alf e Sani) was born in 1564. His lineage goes back to Hazrat Omar(RA). He received his early education from his father Sheikh Abdul Ahad. Then he went to Silakot for further studies, Silakot was the centre of knowledge of that time. He was a disciple of Sheikh Baqi Billah (R.AH.) After completing his education, he went to Sialkot, Punjab for preaching of Islam. At that time Islam was badly distorting in the wake of ‘Deen e Ilahi’ coined by Mughal Emperor Akbar, Islam was losing its basic spirit. There was a need of a man who could counter these Heresies. After the death of Akbar, His son Jahangir continued his father teachings. Mujaddid Alf e Sani raised voice against Deen e Ilahi, hence got imprisoned by Jahangir. Ghazali's philosophical scepticism which however went a little too far virtually did the same kind of work in the world of Islam in breaking the back of that proud but shallow rationalism which moved in the same direction as per pre kantian rationalism in Germany.  AL ASHARI SCHOOL OF THEOLOGY The more constructive among Asharite thinkers for no doubt on the right path and anticipated some of the more modern forms of idealism yet on the whole the object of the Asharite movement was simply to defend orthodox opinion with the weapons of Greek dialectic.Muslim thinkers of the school of Al AShari did not believe in the infinite divisibility of space and time with them space , time and motion are made up of points and instance which cannot be further subdivided. History of Aligarh Muslim University Part 1 In 1859, Sir Syed had established a Madrasa in Moradabad. In 1863, when he was in Ghazipur, he took a new step in the field of education. He established the Scientific Society. Both the Hindus and Muslims of the city took oath in this work. Two Lieutenant Governors supported him. Society of Patronage Accepted The aim of the establishment was that the books of Mufid Uloom should be read in our assembly so that the voice of education can be achieved early. In 1864, a school was established in this city, its foundation stone was laid by Raja Devnarayan Singh and Nana Mohammad Fasi, Raja Saheb also laid it.
