SULTAN ALAUDDIN KHALJI "SIKANDAR E SAANI"
The coming of khaljis into power marked the end of monopolisation of power and racial dictatorship.
The expansion took place from north to south.
Alauddin khalji organised a strong and deficient army.
This strong army gave confidence to khaljis and to eliminate feudalism.His reforms in the revenue administrations nd linking of the agriculture class with the state in a direct manner is more marked and visible
Barani refers to 11 wonder during the reign of alauddin khalji the scholars produced vast mass of literature which find progress not only in the field of of literature but also in the field of art in the khalji architecture
The mongol invasion took place in 1297-98 the army of the delhi sultanate under zafar khan and ulugh khan met the mongol army near jalandhar nearly 20000 mongols were killed nd many mongol officers were captured in the early months of 1299.
Reforms of alauddin khalji:
1-state demand was fixed as half of the total produced per biswa
2-he abolished the small iqtas which brought under khalisa
3-according to amir khusro this policy of price control was the general welfare of people therefore alauddin khalji fixed the prices of commodities
4-the economic regulation issued by the sultan for controlling the markets were asunder
a-rate fixed of food grain ,horses.catles .slaves
b-without state permission there was no any criteria to change the fixed price
c-4 separate markets were established for various commodities
1-central grain market
2-market for manufacture goods
3-market for general markendise
4-market for horses. cattles. slaves
Alauddin khalji received daily report from 3 independent sources shahna. barids .nd munshi they were always ready to solve any problem if failed then the case produced before the sultan.
