Ibn Khaldun ( A Muslim Scholar)
ABU ZAYD ABDUR REHMAN IBN MUHAMMAD IBN KHALDUN AL HADRAMI (27 May 1332 – 17 March 1406)
was a muslim historian. philosopher, geographer and proto sociologist. He lived in the cities of Algeria, Tunisia and Spain. His monumental work is"Muqaddimah" in which he wrote about civilization geography and anthropology it discussed about nomadic culture ,dynasties, kingdoms, life in villages and cities, classification of of sciences.
He also gave information about 1- state formation and decline ,2-northern hemisphere is more densely populated than southern hemisphere, 3-population along equator is thin, 4-settlers are attracted by fertility of land and by seas. He also gave information why arab and nomads are of easy disposition and discussed various ways of conducting commerce.
