*Hazrat Armiya bin Hilqiya, peace be upon him*[Jeremiah son of Hilkiah]


Hafiz Ibn Asakir states: It is well-known in some narrations that when Hazrat Yahya was martyred, his blood kept flowing continuously on the land of Damascus and did not stop. At that time, Armiya came and said, “O blood, you have put the people to trial — now stop.” So it stopped, was absorbed into the earth, and disappeared from sight.


Hazrat Wahb bin Munabbih said: When the Children of Israel began committing sins in excess, Allah the Exalted sent revelation to their prophet Armiya: “Stand among your people and convey to them My words.”


When the Children of Israel became excessive in worldly affairs and moral corruption, Allah the Exalted revealed to Armiya: “I am going to destroy the Children of Israel and take vengeance because of their sins. Go to Bait al-Maqdis; there My command will reach you.”[Jerusalem]


He said, “O Allah, which nation are You going to set upon them?” The Lord said, “They are fire-worshippers. They neither fear My reckoning nor hope for My reward. Tell your people: Until now Allah has given you respite because of the righteousness of your forefathers. But you have forgotten every command of Mine. Now I will set over you a tyrant ruler who will show you no mercy at all.”


When Armiya conveyed Allah’s message to them, they said, “Armiya, you are lying. You are fabricating against Allah. Would Allah leave His Holy Land empty of His mosques, His Book, and His worshippers? Then who would remain on the earth to glorify Him?”


Hisham says: When Bukht Nasr came to Bait al-Maqdis, the king there was from the descendants of Hazrat Dawud. According to one narration, Bukht Nasr learned that Armiya was also in prison. He released him. He told him, “I had warned them, but they did not listen to me and imprisoned me.” He said, “What an evil people — they disobeyed the Messenger of Allah.”[Nebuchadnezzar][David]

Maulvi Samiullah Khan

 Maulvi Samiullah Khan  He was a close aziz of Sir Syed. Born in 1834 in Delhi, after getting Arabic-Persian education, he got law education and got the post of Munsif. He had a keen eye on the law, hence gave clan-like decisions, but did this work according to his temperament. After not getting the desired results, he resigned and started practicing law.He started it on the very first day. Sir Syed's followers are helpful in his education movement. When a Madrasa was established in Aligarh under his mother, its supervision was handed over to him. He carried out his duties with utmost audacity. On the issue of Syed Mahmood's murder, he spoke to Sir Syed. There was a disagreement and there was a bad temper.But his sympathy for the college remained with him till the end.
