*Collections of Hadith*

1. *As-Sahifah As-Sadiqah* — This is the Hadith collection of Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr bin Al-As. Hazrat Abdullah used to write down the Hadith of the Prophet immediately. It is not mentioned how many Hadiths were included in this Sahifah. However, Hazrat Abu Hurairah said: “Among the companions of the Prophet (peace be upon him), no one had more Hadiths than me except Abdullah bin Amr, because he used to write them down and I did not.”

2. *Sahifah of Ali* — Hazrat Ali had written down the narrations he heard from the Prophet (peace be upon him) during his era, which were related to rulings. Mentioning this Sahifah, Hazrat Ali himself said: “I did not write anything from Muhammad (peace be upon him) except the Qur’an and what is in this Sahifah.”

3. *Sahifah of Anas bin Malik* — Hazrat Anas bin Malik was the servant of the Messenger. At the age of 10, his mother presented him to the service of the Prophet (peace be upon him), saying: “He knows how to write.” He remained in the service of the Prophet (peace be upon him) for 10 years and used to note down the Hadith of the Prophet (peace be upon him), and he would also recite them back to the Prophet (peace be upon him). His student was Hazrat Sa’id bin Hilal.

4. *Collection of Amr bin Hazm* — When appointing Hazrat Amr bin Hazm as the governor of Najran, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) had Ubayy ibn Ka’b write a document for him. In it were rulings on purification, prayer, ‘ushr and zakat, Hajj, Umrah, jihad, spoils of war, and jizyah, and the prohibition of tribal nationalism. Besides teachings of the Qur’an and methods of governance, other advice was also recorded.

5. *Writing of Rafi’ bin Khadij* — Among the brief writings of Hadith from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was the writing of Hazrat Rafi’ bin Khadij.

6. *Collection of Abu Hurairah* — During the era of the Noble Messenger (peace be upon him), Hazrat Abu Hurairah did not write Hadith, but later he considered it appropriate to preserve Hadith in writing. Thus, Hasan bin Amr says: “I narrated a Hadith in front of Abu Hurairah, and he expressed no knowledge of it. I said, ‘I heard this Hadith from you.’ He said, ‘If you heard this Hadith from me, then it will be written with me.’ After that he took my hand and brought me to his house, and showed me many books of Hadith of the Messenger (peace be upon him). Among them was that Hadith, about which he said: ‘I already told you — if I narrated that Hadith, it would be written with me.’”
