*Hazrat Isa (Peace be upon him) – Part 5*


And remember when Isa, son of Maryam, said: “O Children of Israel! I have come to you as a messenger from Allah, confirming the Book that came before me, namely the Torah, and giving glad tidings of a Messenger who will come after me, whose name will be Ahmad.” Then when he came to them with clear signs, they said, “This is obvious magic.” And who is more unjust than one who is invited to Islam, yet he fabricates a lie against Allah? And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people. They wish to extinguish Allah’s light with their mouths, but Allah will perfect His light, even though the disbelievers dislike it.[Qur’an 61:6-8]


Those who follow the Messenger, the unlettered Prophet, whom they find mentioned in their own scriptures in the Torah and the Injil — he enjoins upon them what is right and forbids them what is wrong, and makes lawful for them the good things and prohibits for them the impure, and he relieves them of their burden and the shackles that were upon them. So those who believe in him, honor him, support him, and follow the light which was sent down with him — it is they who will be successful.[Qur’an 7:157]


And recall the time when the disciples said: “O Isa, son of Maryam! Can your Lord send down to us a table spread with food from heaven?” He said: “Fear Allah, if you are believers.” They said: “We wish to eat from it and have our hearts reassured, and to know that you have told us the truth, and to be among its witnesses.” Isa, son of Maryam, prayed: “O Allah, our Lord! Send down to us a table from heaven, that it may be a feast for us — for the first of us and the last of us — and a sign from You, and provide for us, for You are the best of providers.” Allah said: “Indeed, I will send it down to you, but whoever disbelieves afterward from among you — I will punish him with a punishment by which I have not punished anyone among the worlds.”[Qur’an 5:112-115]


And the Jews plotted regarding the killing of Isa, and Allah planned to save Isa, and Allah is the best of planners. At that time Allah said: “O Isa! I will complete your term on earth and raise you to Myself and purify you from those who disbelieve, and I will make those who follow you superior to those who disbelieve until the Day of Resurrection. Then to Me you will all return, and I will judge between you concerning that in which you used to differ.”[Qur’an 3:54-55]


Because of their breaking of the covenant, and their disbelief in the signs of Allah, and their killing of the prophets unjustly, and their saying, “Our hearts are wrapped” — rather, Allah has cursed them. It is not that their hearts are wrapped, but Allah has sealed them because of their disbelief, so they believe only a little. And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him, but it was made to appear so to them. And those who differ about him are in doubt concerning him. They have no knowledge of it except the following of conjecture. And they did not kill him for certain. Rather, Allah raised him to Himself. And Allah is Mighty and Wise. And there is none from the People of the Book but will believe in him before his death, and on the Day of Resurrection he will be a witness against them.[Qur’an 4:155-159]

Maulvi Samiullah Khan

 Maulvi Samiullah Khan  He was a close aziz of Sir Syed. Born in 1834 in Delhi, after getting Arabic-Persian education, he got law education and got the post of Munsif. He had a keen eye on the law, hence gave clan-like decisions, but did this work according to his temperament. After not getting the desired results, he resigned and started practicing law.He started it on the very first day. Sir Syed's followers are helpful in his education movement. When a Madrasa was established in Aligarh under his mother, its supervision was handed over to him. He carried out his duties with utmost audacity. On the issue of Syed Mahmood's murder, he spoke to Sir Syed. There was a disagreement and there was a bad temper.But his sympathy for the college remained with him till the end.
