Here's the English translation:

*History of the Quraysh Tribe – Part 4*

In noble families, women were highly respected; they had considerable freedom to act as they wished, and their decisions were often accepted. On the other hand, prostitution and obscenity were rampant in certain other sections of society. However, the practice of killing newborn infants was also common.

The principle of 'unity of blood,' which held the Arabs together as a social unit, had been formed and strengthened by a sense of tribal pride. The desire for leadership, intense competition, and the ambition to outdo others often led to bitter battles between tribes, even though they were all descendants of the same ancestor.

In Arabia, most industries like weaving and tanning were carried out by people who came from the borders of Yemen, Hira, and Syria. They competed with each other in hospitality and took great pride in it. Nearly half of their poetry was about the good or bad ways of entertaining guests. Praising wine-drinking was also among their prominent traits. Gambling was another one of their habits.

The Arabs would not hesitate to take on debt to uphold their deep tradition of honoring mutual agreements or promises. They also never hesitated to sacrifice themselves to protect their self-respect.
