*Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) as a Great Military Commander*

*1. Battle of Badr*

The Muslim army was encamped near a spring at Badr. The Prophet (peace be upon him) ordered a basin or reservoir to be made from a well near his camp and filled with water, and had the other wells destroyed so that the enemy army would not find any suitable place to halt.

*2. Battle of Uhud*

The Prophet (peace be upon him) selected a squad of fifty archers and placed them under the command of Abdullah bin Jubair (RA), and ordered them to stay on a hill on the southern bank of Qanat Valley, about one hundred fifty meters from the Muslim army. He told them to keep the cavalry away from us with arrows to protect us from an attack from the rear, and ordered them to stand firmly in their position until the battle was over, whether the Muslim army struggled or dominated.

*3. Battle of al-Ahzab*

The Prophet (peace be upon him) held consultations with the Companions and proposed digging trenches around Medina as defensive lines.

*4. Conquest of Mecca*

The Prophet (peace be upon him) sent an eight-member mission led by Abu Qatadah (RA) toward Idam, a short distance from Medina, in order to draw people’s attention and conceal the main objective on which he was focusing.
