Hazrat Adam (Peace be upon him) – Part 2
Allah Ta‘ala created Adam (Peace be upon him) with His own hand,
so that no one could claim superiority over him. Thus He created him in human
form. On Friday, he lay as a body made of clay for 40 years. The angels would
pass by, and they would be startled upon seeing him as a human.
Iblis was the most frightened. When he passed by and tapped him, a
sound came as when something strikes an earthen vessel. Iblis entered the
earthen body through the mouth and exited from the other side. He said to the
angels, “Do not fear him, but he is hollow. If I am given power over him, I
will surely destroy him.”
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah that the Prophet (Peace
and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Allah Ta‘ala created Adam, and his
height was 60 cubits.” Then He said, “Go and greet that group of angels. This
greeting will be the manner of greeting for you and your offspring.”
Hazrat Abu Hurairah narrates that the Messenger of Allah (Peace
and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Accept the advice to treat women
well, for woman was created from a rib. And the most crooked part of the rib is
its uppermost part. If you try to straighten that rib, you will break it; and
if you leave it, it will remain crooked. So accept the advice to treat women
well.”
_And We said to Adam: “You and your wife dwell in Paradise, and
eat freely from it wherever and whatever you wish. But do not go near this
tree, or you will become wrongdoers.”
_Then Satan tempted them both in order to expose what was hidden
from them of their private parts, and he said: “Your Lord has only forbidden
you this tree lest you become angels or become of the immortals.” And he swore
to them, “Indeed, I am to you a sincere adviser.” So, he lured them with
deception.
_And when they tasted of the tree, their private parts became
apparent to them, and they began to fasten over themselves from the leaves of
Paradise. Then their Lord called to them: “Did I not forbid you from that tree
and tell you that Satan is to you a clear enemy?”
_They both said: “Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You
do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers.”
